Our Board

Chuck Himmelberger – President

Chuck Himmelberger was elected as a voting member of the Board of Directors for a 3-year term beginning January 2025 and ending December 2027. Chuck is an electrical engineer and retired as a senior project manager in the nuclear power division at a consulting engineering firm. He previously played a key role in TKA’s early years, including serving as president and vice president of the Board from 2001 through 2006. Chuck and his family have deep ties to TKA—his wife, Lynn, has served as a Kindergarten aide for over 20 years, his daughter is an alumnus of TKA and the PTF coordinator, and one of his grandchildren attends the school. He currently attends Mohrsville Church of the Brethren. As president of the Board, Chuck also serves as an ex-officio voting member on the various board committees.

Ben Glunz – Vice President

Benjamin Glunz was elected as a voting member of the Board of Directors for a 3-year term beginning January 2026 and ending December 2028. Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from Judson University and is a strong advocate for Christian education, having attended Christian schools and previously served on a university board. He is the founder and CEO of Anguleris Technologies, where he has spent more than 15 years leading and scaling a multinational digital solutions company serving major manufacturers worldwide. Ben brings strategic insight, operational expertise, and a heart for service to TKA. He attends The Bridge Church in Hamburg, where he serves in several leadership roles, and he and his wife Charise are parents to Walter, a first-grade student at TKA. Ben also serves as chairperson of the Advancement Committee, and as chairperson of Business Affairs (Ad-hoc) Committee..

Ted Stalnecker – Treasurer

Ted Stalnecker was elected as a voting member of the Board of Directors in September 2025 to fill a vacant term ending December 2026.  Ted is a small business owner and Lincoln Tech graduate who works in the construction industry and brings decades of faithful service to TKA.  A member of the original steering committee during the school’s founding, Ted has served multiple terms on the Board over the past 27 years, including several seasons as Board Treasurer and chair of the Finance and Legal Committee.  He has also played a key role in facilities planning, was vital in the acquisition of the original school building, and acquisition of the modular building.  Ted attends Mohrsville Church of the Brethren, where he has previously served on the church board and now serves with the audio team.  He and his wife Ann are proud parents of TKA alumni and grandparents of former TKA students.  Ted also serves as chairperson of the Finance and Legal Committee, and as member of the Business Affairs (Ad-hoc) Committee.

Steven Frederick

Steven Frederick was elected as a voting member of the Board of Directors to fill a 3-year term beginning January 2024 and ending December 2026.  Steven is a dedicated and valued member of the facilities team, and his wife Laura serves TKA as the Jr. Kindergarten teacher.  He and his wife have one daughter, Audrey, who is an elementary student at TKA.  Following 4 years of service in the US Army, Steven has worked for Norfolk Southern Corp as a Railroader for the last 13 years.  Steven and his family are faithful members of St. Michael’s Church in Hamburg, where both Laura and Steve regularly volunteer.  Steven serves as chairperson of the Facilities Maintenance and Planning Committee, and as a member of the Board Governance Committee.

Heather Clark

Heather Clark was elected as a voting member of the Board of Directors for a 3-year term beginning January 2024 and ending December 2026.  Heather is an accomplished entrepreneur who launched her first venture, Go Fish Seafood, in 2005.  An Albright College alumna, Heather is a dedicated community member with a strong commitment to giving back.  She actively supports local initiatives, collaborates with schools on educational programs about nutrition and sustainability, and engages in community events to promote a sense of connection and shared responsibility.  Heather is also a proud mother to Oliver Clark, a student at The King’s Academy.  Together, they are active members of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church in Sinking Spring.  Heather serves as a member of the Finance and Legal Committee, as a member of the Board Governance Committee, and as a member of the Business Affairs (Ad-hoc) Committee.

Ronda Neiswender

Ronda Neiswender was elected as a voting member of the Board of Directors for a 3-year term beginning January 2025 and ending December 2027.  Ronda holds a Bachelors in Science degree in Elementary Education from Olivet Nazarene University and a Master’s in Elementary Education from Kutztown University.  She has taught in both public and private schools during her teaching career.  She is one of the original teachers at TKA.  She spent the first year teaching a combined class of first and second graders, then fifteen years teaching Kindergarten.  She did a tremendous job maintaining and defining a Kindergarten program that is Christ-centered and academically excellent.  We are thankful for her dedication and years of service.  She currently serves as the chairperson of the Academic Life Committee.  Ronda and her husband Dave are parents to two TKA alumni, Leah (2018) and Jacob (2023).  The Board is excited to have her years of unique experience and knowledge.  Ronda attends GT West Lawn where she has served in children’s ministry, leader of ladies’ bible study, and as a choir member.  She currently serves on the Greeters and Ushers team.

Susan Rudy

Susan Rudy was elected as a voting member of the Board of Directors in September 2025 to fill a vacant term ending December 2027.  Susan holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science in Health Administration from St. Joseph’s University, and an RN Diploma from The Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences.  A retired Physical Therapist and Registered Nurse, she is now involved in property management and development.  Susan previously served on TKA’s Board from 1998 to 2009, taught Latin from 2001 to 2003, and contributed to both the Education Committee and the Facilities Maintenance and Planning Committee, offering valuable leadership and support during the school’s early years.  She attends St. John’s Church in Port Clinton, where she volunteers in fundraising and participates in Bible studies, and has also served as a preschool teacher and nursery worker.  Susan and her husband Chet are parents of TKA alumni, and she enjoys reading, camping, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.  Susan serves as chairperson of the Board Governance Committee, and also serves as a member of the Academic Life Committee.

Chris Schenkel

Chris Schenkel was elected as a voting member of the Board of Directors for a 3-year term beginning January 2026 and ending December 2028.  Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and an MBA from Penn State University.  He is a CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CHFP (Certified Healthcare Financial Professional), and a CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative).  Chris also serves on the Board of Directors for Mary’s Shelter and the HFMA Central PA Chapter.  Chris is a Healthcare Finance Professional with over 20 years’ experience in accounting and finance in large, complex organizations using finance shared service models.  He is currently the Director of Transformation Finance at Geisinger where he leads the financial support arm of the Geisinger Transformation group which is responsible for Enterprise-wide project planning, execution, and reporting.  Chris currently attends GT West Lawn where he serves as a Small Group Leader and a Preteen Small Group Leader.  Beyond his professional achievements, Chris is a committed husband and father.  He and his wife Krista are the parents of Cassidy, who is a 5th grade student at TKA, and Caiden, who attends a local public school.  Chris serves as a member of the Finance and Legal Committee and as a member of the Business Affairs (Ad-hoc) Committee.

Barbara Wilcox – Chaplain

Barbara Wilcox was appointed as a non-voting Lifetime Board Member at Large in September 2025.  Barbara holds a degree in Elementary Education from Immaculata University and a Master’s in Education from Lehigh University and has devoted much of her life to Christian education.  She is the Founder of The King’s Academy and served as School Administrator and Head of School from its founding in 1997 through 2007.  God placed on her heart the vision for a Christian school in northern Berks County, and through prayer, perseverance, and the support of many faithful individuals, TKA was established.  Barbara provided spiritual leadership, helped shape the school’s Christ centered academic program, developed the International Program, and played a key role in forming TKA’s mission and vision.  Barbara offers wisdom and guidance in support of the school’s ongoing mission, and serves as a member of the Academic Life Committee.
